Based in Masham, Yorkshire, England, Black Sheep Brewery is the brainchild of Paul Theakston. The former managing director of Theakston Brewery also in Masham, Yorkshire.
In fact Theakston is a family brewery started by Thomas Theakston way back in 1827. In the late eighties family disputes ended in a buy out of Theakston’s by Scottish & Newcastle Brewery. A disillusioned Paul left the fold.
Brewing is in Pauls blood and it wasn’t long before he was fighting back to build a new brewery. Despite many obstacles he pulled it off and Black Sheep was born.
Now a well established brewery run by his two sons Robert and Jonathan. Black Sheep produce a great range of beers.
This page will feature those beers and will appear here as I get to try them, so the list will grow.
