I had my first Rev. yesterday at a The Swan, Broadway, Cotswolds, and thought it excellent; the best ale I’ve had in some time. So I disagree very much with Rob’s valuation – but as you say, taste is very personal.

i love this beer, it’s more like a bitter than lager. Have it cold for a better experience. Will be buying a few more bottles for Christmas and New Year.

You can buy it direct from their website Banks’s Beer, or you might find that some of the supermarkets may stock it. I hope that helps.

You are right, I was in a Greene King pub only yesterday (Feathers Inn, Wadesmill, Hertfordshire) and no Ice Breaker on tap, But Level Head was standing proud and popular. I think Greene King have moved on. Level Head is pretty good though, I enjoyed it.

I agree, taste and mouthfeel is a personal thing, and I like to share the experience I get from every beer I try. Other people may get a different experience, but it’s all good fun. Rev James for me is a standard ale that a lot of people love, including you. Keep on enjoying!

I love Rev. James and the problem with tasting anything, not just beer, is that it is a very personal thing as there are many factors that could affect the judgement.
So I ignore people’s comments about beer tastes and styles and just taste what I’ve never had and regularly drink the ones I like.
And the Rev. is top of my list!
