i love this beer, it’s more like a bitter than lager. Have it cold for a better experience. Will be buying a few more bottles for Christmas and New Year.

Hi Keith,
It is great that you were drinking a Fici why reading my review. They are good value and a pretty decent beer too. I think you always get a stronger flavour if the beer is at room temperature and not chilled. Good luck with your mission to keep these beers stocked at B&M.Home Bargains stock some good beers too.

I’ve actually got one on the go right now as I type this!
The review is spot on and at 3 for a fiver at B&M is an absolute bargain. Yes the bottle is unusual and appealing and the tear-off cap makes for very easy opening, it’s the liquid contents that stand out for me. Good ABV, full 500ml and a lovely malty hit with citrus notes. Very refreshing chilled and and drinkable even unchilled which really enhances the flavours. With decent lagers I often don’t bother to chill them as they can often open up like a real ale rather than super chilled where no flavours get chance to develop. The Reinheitsgebot brewers of the 1500s didn’t have fridges did they? Obviously there is no need to try this serving method on Molson-Coors pish as there is no flavour to enhance.
B&M stock some unusual ( but very welcome) continental lagers such as Mythos and Efes but they can’t be big sellers as most B&M customers would go straight for the Stella. I am therefore making it my personal mission to buy loads of these lagers to encourage them to keep stocking them and encourage you all to do the same.

I came across Fici at my Home Bargains store here in Hereford. I was actually looking for Efes and Home Bargains in the only retailer I have found to supply this beer.
I was interested in the bottle as it displayed a Turkish name and importer and decided to try it for myself having been an admirer of Turkish Beers over the years.
My initial observations was how nice to have a pull top on the bottle and on pouring to be greeted with a light amber colour and not overpowering head. The aroma was very pleasant and fresh and the taste was that of a quite young and refreshing drink. I am no expert when it comes to beer drinking, but this was certainly very enjoyable and highly recommended.
