Hi Parameter,

A modern home bar is a great look, but for me you can't beat the traditional pub look. I am pleased my other article about converting a shed to as bar helped you. A shed can make a great home bar, and it is an extra room added to the home which is the best space to entertain.

Hi Colly,

I would imagine cutting down on going to the pub has saved you money too. This is where a home bar can come in handy, its a great place to entertain and it costs a lot less than the pub.

It is a great choice to have a bar indoors and I get the privacy thing too. However a bar outside does have its advantages too as it is completely separate from the home.

I used to go to pubs a whole lot last year before I cut down on it so I could relate to this article a whole lot more than usual. I love indoor pubs a whole lot cause it gives this home feeling where you kind of have your privacy rather than an outdoor pub where you do not have these things.

My wife and I decided to give our home a new look. We are resizing and changing our window frames and considering giving our little bar some touches. I am pleased you found inspiration from my article, and a modern style bar is a good choice. I take delivery this week of the cabin I am building for my pub shed. So construction will commence at the weekend, weather pending.

I do believe this article just inspired me to build a bar in the basement. The modern sleek look interests me. It was very interesting reading about the different types of bars. Hi Moody,

I won’t actually be putting sawdust down in the pub shed, it’s just a joke. It refers to an old low class tavern from many years back, known as spit and sawdust. Sawdust was used on the floors to soak up spillages and the spit from customers. Thankfully we have moved on since those days.

I think you mean “wood shavings “ not sawdust. You can purchase through most farm supply and pet shops, but I would advise against it. It is mess and can be slippery ( don’t want an accident) A natural or dark stained wood floor would look nice, and your guest won’t be tracking a mess about! Best of luck!
