Paulaner Brewery is a modern German Brewery located in Munich, Germany. However its humble origins date back to 1634 when the monks of Neudeck ob der au monastery began to brew beer.
The beer was for themselves, but any spare was given to the poor or sold locally. Over time their beer got noticed and was known as Salvator.
Salvator is a double bock and still brewed today using the original recipe.
The majority of the Paulaner brewery is owned by Schörghuber family and their beer is exported worldwide. Paulaner is also one of the six breweries that provide the beer for the famous Oktoberfest, and they have done since 1818.
A brewery steeped in history and very humble beginnings.
