Pecheresse Lambic comes from the Lindemans Brewery situated on a farm in Vlezenbeek, Belgium. This Lambic style beer has a peach influence, so is a fruit Lambic. So what is Pecheresse like?
If you like peach juice with the slightest of alcoholic flair, then you will love it. If you like beer, then you won’t. It pours a light gold with a thin head. On the nose there is a slight malt, but it is predominantly peach. The taste is just an explosion of peach, really sweet peach and thin in the mouth. It tastes like a very sweet wine, not nice, it gets a score of 1.0 – 5.0.
It may be brewed how a Lambic beer is brewed, but the peach takes it away from beer and into the world of wine, a very sweet wine.

Pecheresse Lambic Review
Pecheresse is a Lambic beer brewed using the brewing method of Spontaneous Fermentation, it is also known as wild beer too.
This one sits in a 330ml green bottle that resembles a wine bottle with a beer cap on top. The name Pecheresse combines the French words peach and sinner and the brown label has a naked woman lying on what is probably a chaise longue holding a glass of probably Pecheresse.
This fruit Lambic comes in at a low 2.5% ABV.
Crack the cap open and you are greeted with a cork (is this proof this is more wine like than beer), pop the cork and you are in.
Drinking Pecheresse Lambic
Pouring the Pecheresse it settles with plenty of bubbles rising up the glass with a thin white head that fades straight away.
On the nose it is distinctively peachy, a slight malt up front, but otherwise it’s all peach, it smells a bit like a peach schnapps. The taste is a mirror of the nose but with even less malt, but more peach.
However apart from the strong peach flavour, the biggest thing is the sweetness, it is really sweet with no let up. I can only liken it to a fruity sweet wine that is thin in the mouth and has no oomph. I know it’s a fruit Lambic beer, but I wouldn’t class this as a beer.
For me it gets a rate my beer score of 1.0 out of 5.0. M’Lady is not keen either, saying “It’s actually like a weak peach wine, not really a beer and very sweet too.” Lou scores it the same as me. 1.0 out of 5.0.
So neither of us a Pecheresse fans.
Lindemans Brewery
The Lindemans story dates back to 1822 on the Vlezenbeek Farm owned by Petrus Jacobus Vandersmissen and his wife Maria Anna Van Dorselaer.
Joos Fran Lindemans worked at the farm and married Francisca Josina Vandersmissen, the daughter of Petrus and Maria.
Joos Frans started brewing in the evenings after his work on the farm. This gathered pace during the colder months when other farm hands joined him in the brewing of his beer.
The rest is history, as the brewery gathered pace, the farm became less active. Until brewing became the only activity on the farm
There have been six generations since 1822 and brewery have become one of the leading Lambic brewers in Belgium and the world.
Lindemans Beers
Lindemans do make a lot of beers, all of course Lambic, and quite a lot of fruit Lambics by the look of things. They also make some gins too.
Here are a few of the beers available from the Lindemans line up.
Faro Lambic
Faro Lambic is matured on oak for one year, then sugar syrup is added to offset the acidity. It is an old style Lambic that Lendemans brought back to life in 1978.
It has an amber appearance and has a sweet syrup taste with a sour finish. It weighs in at 4.5% ABV. Not sure about this one.
Gueuze
Gueuze traditionally is a carbonated blend of different Lambics. This one is a one year old Lambic that is slightly sweet.
It’s appearance is light golden blonde, it is said to be sweet and dry slightly sour and has notes of Champagne and Rhubarb. This one weighs in at 5.0% ABV.
Tarot Dor
Tarot Dor sounds a bit of a fruity affair with added exotic fruits. Expect aromas and flavours of mango, melon and lime. It is said to be full bodied and juicy giving a tart edge with and easy finish.
It is not one to throw back though, more of a sipper instead at a whopping 8.0% ABV.
Final Thoughts
So Lindemans are a well established brewery that obviously know what they are doing. They also have an impressive amount of awards for their beers.
The Pecheresse is obviously loved by many, but for me it doesn’t hit the spot. It is so sweet it is hard to finish, I describe it as a breakfast drink that has a slight alcoholic edge to it.
If you have tried Pecheresse then do share your thoughts below, I would like to know what you think of this Fruit Lambic.
Likewise if you have tried any other Lindemans beers then share your thoughts on those too.
