Ringwood Brewery

Ringwood Brewery was founded in 1978 by retired head brewer of Hull Brewery Peter Austin. Having retired he moved to Hampshire in England.

He started the brewery in Ringwood town taking residence in an old bakery. Eight years later in 1986 the brewery moved to a site on the outskirts of Ringwood.

Another four years on and Peter sold his shares to his partner David Welsh. Moving on another seventeen years, and in 2007 Marston’s PLC purchased the brewery promising to keep the site and beers going.

However moving onto present day and Marston’s which is now Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company have closed Ringwood Brewery.

It went up for sale in June 2023, but failing to secure a buyer the brewery was closed in January 2024. At the moment the beers continue to be produced at other Carlsberg Marston sites.
