Warsteiner Brewery was sort of started by accident way back in 1753. Antonius Cramer a farmer in Warstein, Germany had a little side business.
He brewed beer at home and sold it as a side line. However as demand grew he was asked to pay tax on his beer.
From that tiny acorn a monster tree has grown. Nine generations later and Warsteiner is one of the largest private breweries in Germany. Still in the hands of the same family, it is now headed by Catharina Cramer.
Their range of beers is not vast, but they concentrate on producing just a few. As I work my way through them, they will appear here on this page.
