Fortunately there are plenty of resources to get the creative juices flowing for your own pub shed or home bar project. The most popular and obvious places to look are Pinterest and Instagram. These are both brilliant places to find ideas and inspiration. But there are more resources, with plenty of ideas.

Here in the UK at the time of writing this, spring is upon us, and plenty of people will be looking to join the pub shed trend and build their own.

As I mentioned in the introduction, a pub shed is a big project. But once you have set your heart on it, then it all becomes about how to build one and what to include inside.

It can be hard to visualise sometimes, so the search for ideas and inspiration is what everyone goes through when taking on a project like this.

The easiest place to start looking for ideas is online, the internet is an endless resource for ideas and inspiration.

I have compiled a list of places to go and immerse yourself in the pub shed world. Look at what others have done and gather ideas for your own project.

You don’t have to copy others, unless you want to of course. But seeing what other pub shedders have done will inspire you.

Now onto the list to get ideas and inspiration for building a pub shed. The first ones on the list are pretty obvious, but don’t under estimate how powerful they can be.

The last few are not so obvious, but are great in terms of ideas and inspiration.

Pinterest Inspiration

Pinterest is a great platform for ideas in any subject, whether it be a hobby or work. Being a visual platform you get visual ideas for your own project.

You can literally scroll endlessly through images and even short videos too.

Just type ‘Pub Shed’ into the search bar and you will get loads of images and videos to inspire you. There is a variation of searches you can put into the search bar, but just ‘pub Shed’ alone will load plenty.

If you want to hone in on a particular subject within the pub shed category, then just type it into the search bar.

Pinterest is a great resource for ideas and inspiration.

Instagram Ideas

Just like Pinterest, Instagram is a very visual platform. You will find endless images and reels (videos) on any subject you can think of.

Again it is sufficient to just type ‘Pub Shed’ into the search bar and it will fill with all things pub shed. However add in other words to to fine tune your search get exactly what you want to see.

Instagram is another great recourse of ideas.

Facebook Pub Shed Groups

Facebook is slightly different, although it is still a visual platform, there seems to be more interaction going on.

When I type ‘Pub Shed’ into the search bar the page loads with thousands of pub shed groups. Facebook groups are like a community coming together on a certain subject.

They are normally private groups, so you need to click on the join button to see any content. This will need to be approved by the group administrator.

I am a member of a few pub shed and home bar groups on Facebook. You can normally tell how good a group is and how active it is by the amount of members.

The best one I have come across is Garden Shed, Pubs And Nightclubs UK and as you can see in the image, it says next to it visit instead of join.

In this group people add pictures and videos of their pub sheds. They also ask for advice and inspiration from other members.

Facebook is a great place to join groups for ideas about pub sheds.

Youtube Videos

Youtube is one of the best places to get inspiration for building a pub shed. You can even find videos of complete pub shed builds.

Just type those words in the search bar and there are loads of videos that come up lending ideas for your own project.

How to videos are popular on Youtube, which is ideal for this kind of project. Get stuck on something and search for it on Youtube, and chances are you will get a decent tutorial on how to do it.

X For Ideas

When I say X, I of course mean Twitter which is another great resource for design ideas and suggestions. There doesn’t seem to be the vast amount you get on the other platforms I have mentioned so far.

However there is still some good content for most subjects, including pub sheds and home bars. Again there is a mixture of images and videos, so plenty of content to inspire.

Try Twitter for a little pub shed creativity.

TikTok Videos

TikTok is another platform similar to Youtube, however most of the videos on this subject are pub shed tours, which is great for ideas of course.

There are some how to videos, but they seem to be a lot shorter than those on Youtube videos. I think there is a shorter limit on the length of a video on TikTok compared to Youtube.

This means it can be hard to do a how to video, because of the time limitation. Having said that I am no TikTok expert.

But it is still a good platform for ideas and inspiration, so give TikTok a go.

Reader Sheds

Coming away from social media, there are plenty of website online that will provide ideas for a pub shed project, homebarkit.com being one of them.

However there are two where you will find a gallery of a large selection of pub sheds who belong to the readers.

Reader Sheds is one of those sites, in fact it is the home of ‘Shed Of The Year’ which means there are all types of sheds on the site. So its not just pub sheds, having said that, they have a section for pub sheds.

The gallery is large and contains pub sheds from people who have put theirs in for shed of the year.

Pub Shed Of The Year

Another website that can spark inspiration is ‘Pub Shed Of The Year’ which of course is self explanatory. Whereas Reader Sheds is about all styles of shed, this site is just about pub sheds.

On their site you will see past winners and runners up of the yearly award, as well as the current winner and runners up.

A great place to get ideas and inspiration for your own pub shed project. Once you have completed your pub shed you can even enter it into the competition. You could be the next winner, I might even enter my pub shed one day.
